Beher 2004, 103; Wahle 2009, seventy eight; Cloos 2008, 153ff.). Dabei bezieht sich die aktuelle Diskussion v. a. auf das Hauptarbeitsfeld der Erzieherinnen, die Kindertageseinrichtungen. Die Ergebnisse der PISA-Studie sowie der Bologna-Prozess lösten eine kontroverse Debatte über die Akademisierung der Ausbildung der Erzieherinnen im Bereich ‚Pädagogik der frühen Kindheit’ aus. Es wurden und werden viele Stimmen laut, die die Verlegung der Erzieherinnenausbildung in den tertiären Sektor fordern, um das Ausbildungsniveau anzuheben. Die Debatte wirft noch viele unbeantwortete Fragen im Hinblick auf die Zukunft der Erzieherinnenausbildung auf, wobei die culture und die Potenziale der Fachschulen für Sozialpädagogik häufig aus dem Blick geraten. Die Fachschule wird allerdings auch in Zukunft eine nicht zu unterschätzende Bedeutung haben, vergleicht guy den aktuellen Bedarf sowie die gesamte Berufsgruppe der Erzieherinnen mit den geringen Absolventen/innenzahlen der Studiengänge im Bereich der Frühpädagogik an den Fachhochschulen. Dennoch befindet sich die Erzieherinnenausbildung derzeit im Umbruch, und die Erzieherinnen im Handlungsfeld der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe stehen durch die Konkurrenz hochschulisch qualifizierter Mitarbeiter/innen zunehmend unter Druck, ihre Professionalität unter Beweis zu stellen (vgl. Cloos 2008, 151; Diller/Rauschenbach 2006, 9ff.).
Aus einer professionstheoretischen Perspektive soll daher in der vorliegenden Arbeit der Frage nachgegangen werden, welche Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten sich auf den verschiedenen Handlungsebenen der Fachschule für Sozialpädagogik ergeben, sodass diese einen Beitrag zur Professionalisierung der Erzieherinnen leisten kann. Die verschiedenen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten werden dabei u. a. unter Berücksichtigung der Ergebnisse eines Forschungsprojektes in shape von qualitativen Experteninterviews hergeleitet.
